TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
We recently engaged Bruce Taylor and his team at Taylor’d Solutions to assess and complete extensive refurbishing and repairs to our house in Remuera Road.
Bruce was recommended to us after we had been through several contractors who overestimated or misdiagnosed the repairs needed. We were living overseas and trying to put the house on the market. It was a very stressful situation as we had been quoted different repairs by different builders in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, most of which we believed unnecessary. I was also 7mths pregnant at the time with our first baby.
Bruce met with our building inspector on site within 24 hours.
We were quickly provided a breakdown of the works required and an estimate of the costs by Renere, and Bruce’s team were on the job that same week.
The works completed included refurbishing two bathrooms, repairing an internal guttering, replacing timber through the bathroom and kitchen below, replacing timber through the garage, and putting in a flashing under large glass sliding doors connecting to the deck. For this last job 3 very large glass sliding doors had to be removed and the deck ripped up to get access and ultimately a large supporting beam had to be replaced. This was a very tricky job which was handled without issues.
In addition to this we also had the floors resanded and polished, and internal jibbing and painting done.
Bruce engaged all of the subcontractors for these jobs and all were completed quickly and to the highest standard. He also arranged for a cleaner to come through the house after the works were done.
I was in constant contact with Bruce and Renere. They always answered their phone or returned my call or email promptly regardless of the time or day. They took the project personally and it was such a relief to be in their honest, capable hands. I enjoyed dealing with them, and although they were extremely busy I never felt my questions or concerns were silly or a nuisance to them.
We couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. The house looked so amazing in the marketing photos we almost wanted to keep it, but it was sold within a week of going on the market. The most important thing however, is that it is totally dry, passing through two building inspections and moisture reports by two different parties with flying colours. When I think of what we would have spent on unnecessary repairs through the other builders who quoted us I shudder. Even worse, at the end of it our house would still have failed a building inspection because the problems were misdiagnosed. Bruce and his team are thorough, honest and very hard working. Thank goodness we found them!
